Nigerian Dwarf Junior Does

Each year we try to keep a small number of replacement does out of our most promising does and bucks. Each is chosen for individual reasons in the hope of improving on the previous generation.

Maire’s dam will be leaving us to join a new herd, but we are very interested in the results of this accidental breeding. Maire is a very promising, friendly doe.
Cadan is from a cross that we are very interested in, as she is linebred on her dam’s sire Sugar Moon O Rough Ryder and her sire brings even more great lines to the mix. Cadan’s dam has qualified for her milk star in butterfat and fully expect her to earn her star for volume with her next lactation (hoping for more than a single next time).
Miranda’s dam is our highest scoring doe for LA this year with a FS of 87 at 7 years old. Her dam is also no slouch when it comes to butterfat, just missing earning her butterfat star at 7 years old and first time on test. Miranda is also half-sister to our best milking doe, JM Farm OH Caramello.
Morgana’s dam will be leaving the herd for a new home and we are interested in what improvements this particular cross has made.
Lana is out of one of our older does and a replacement for her full sister that we lost in 2020.
Cassidy is out of our best milking doe, JM Farm OH Caramello, who has qualified for her milk star in butterfat, protein and volume. We are also very interested in the improvements brought to the line by her sire with all the milk genetics behind him.
Mary is the final daughter to be born to her dam, Molly, as we will be retiring her this year. She is the result of a loose linebreeding on both the paternal and maternal lines.
