We have some exciting breedings planned for this year. We are continuing our program to improve our Nigerian dwarf herd by breeding back for the traits we most desire- strong conformation and an ability to milk under our farm conditions. We are excited to have several does who have qualified for their milk stars and are in the top 15% for their breed in milk production in our breeding lineup this year.
We are adding more polled genetics to our Nubian herd with a young buck from our best producing mini-Nubian doe.
All does are comfirmed bred as of 3/1/2023.
**FYI– We do NOT disbud our kids. Those born with horns will have horns. Those born without will not have horns. Most of the Nigerian dwarf breedings have a 50% chance of producing polled kids. Most of the Mini-Nubian breedings also have a 50% chance of producing polled kids.
We are not taking reservations at this time. Kids will be posted when they become available. A non-refundable deposit of $100 for bucks/does or $50 for wethers will be required to hold a kid until weaning. Balance is due at pickup after the kid is weaned at 9 weeks for males and 12 weeks for does. All kids will have received their 2 cdt vaccinations, coccidia prevention, been dewormed and tattooed. Nigerian dwarf buck kids leaving intact will have DNA samples pulled and submitted with ADGA.

Transport costs and necessary testing or CVI requirements are at the expense of the buyer.
Farm visits will be allowed at the discretion of J&M Farm with ADVANCE NOTICE ONLY. Please keep in mind that we are a working dairy farm, our time is very limited, so please arrive at the scheduled time of your visit. If you arrive late, we may not be able to accommodate your visit as we may have other time-sensitive tasks to perform for the well-being of our animals.
Crimson has qualified for her star for butterfat. She is currently in the 87th percentile. Her daughter from 2022 is just lovely.

This is one of our most exciting breedings for the year. Glorious is currently ranked in the 90th percentile. She has qualified for her milk stars in butterfat and protein. We are looking forward to having her appraised in 2023. O’Malley is a very handsome buck with a final score of 86 as a yearling buck in 2021. This is a linebreeding on our favorite buck, Sugar Moon O Rough Ryder *B (+ pending), who is currently listed at #11 for proven herdsires and whose sire and dam are both SG and been on the Elite list multiple times.

This is a repeat of a breeding that produced 2 very handsome buck kids. We are hoping for a doe kid from this pairing this time around. Liberty is currently ranked in the 88th percentile.This is our most closely linebred breeding of the year. This is a make it or break it breeding. Cadan is out of one of our highest scoring does, JM Farm RR Cadillac Ride 1*M (FS85 as a 1st freshener), This breeding will either produce something amazing or at least show any faults that are lurking in the background.Dancer will be a 3 year-old first freshener, She comes from a slow maturing line of does. Both her sisters, JM Farm OH Caramello and JM Farm RR Crimson Rider, have successfully earned their milk stars. Dancer will be on milk test this year. Kids are priced accordingly.

This is the final breeding by Tux. With his failing health, we decided to breed him to one of our best does in the hopes of producing a buck kid to fill his hoofprints. Caddy is currently in the 88th percentile. She is one of our highest scoring does with a FS of 85 as a FF in 2021.

KIDDED 2/19/2023 Twilight is one of our best mini-Nubian milkers. She kidded with triplets on 2/19/2023- 2 bucks (1 DOA) and 1 doe (RETAINED) Surviving buck is on the bottle and is available as a bottle kid.KIDDED 2/21/2023 Beautiful is a good miller with a well attached udder. She kidded on 2/21/2023 with quad bucks (2 DOA). Her surviving kids will be available at weaning.
